Introducing Kumquat Mandarin

Kumquat Mandarin Co-Milled Olive Oil

Our latest oil offers tasting notes of sweet citrus, vanilla and almond derived from the delicious skins of the kumquat and mandarin gently blended with the bright astringency of our Tuscan olives.

A five year goal was realized in our 2021 co-milled kumquat mandarin olive oil. When we began our journey 9 years ago, we planted mandarin and kumquat trees on our 10 acre olive ranch. This all in anticipation of producing a co milled oil that we’ve never seen before. Pete and I hand cut and juiced 250 pounds of mandarin oranges and hand picked 75 pounds of kumquats. We then threw the fruit in the hopper as the olives were coming down the conveyor belt to be milled. The anticipation was palatable as we watched the fruits co mingle through the mill. Within 15 minutes we were able to taste the fruits of our labor. After many hurdles, including severe weather, fires and drought, we are proud to present our versatile and delicious co milled oil that will tickle your tastebuds. This oil is meant to inspire you, to step out of the box and brighten your recipes. Whether it be on your favorite fish, blended in your salad dressing, drizzled on vegetables or showcase your desserts, our kumquat mandarin blend will excite your palette with an “Wowza” moment!!

The Label

After tasting the superb flavor of our co-milled kumquat mandarin olive oil, I was excited to develop a label worthy of this new and exciting oil. This would prove harder than anticipated. I started with color pencil drawings. One after another but it just didn’t feel worthy. Finally on my Hawaiian vacation I did a full on painting in acrylic of the beautiful fruit that had brought the exquisite flavors to our Tuscan blend olive oil. Maybe it was being in tropical paradise, with unlimited colorful flora and fauna that caused an easy flow of paint and brush. Coupled with the expertise of our own amazingly skilled graphic designer, we came up with a keeper!

Hope you enjoy our journey as much as we did.
